There is no denying that Netflix’s Money Heist is an incredibly popular Spanish crime drama and is one of the most-watched non-English language shows the streaming service has to offer. The anticipation for the fifth season of the enthralling heist thriller is at an all-time high leaving some fans to wonder if there are plans for Money Heist season 6.
After the exhilarating thrill ride of an experience that the first four seasons offered to subscribers, it seemed like the fun would never end with the exceptional small screen franchise. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and it would seem that Money Heist season 6 will not be happening as the fifth installment will serve as the farewell tour for the beloved Netflix original series.
The streaming network unveiled the news regarding the fact that there won’t be a Money Heist season 6. The final set of episodes for season 5 will arrive in two parts and will serve a the final run of the heist crime drama which has a very impressive Rotten Tomatoes score as well as significant critical acclaim since its arrival on Netflix.
When it comes to the end of a series, some would argue to never say never when the idea of a comeback arises and there are definitely enough examples to silence any naysayers to the idea. But for now, fans should start to accept the hard truth that the fifth chapter will be the final outing and the chances of Money Heist season 6 are very slim.
If Netflix was to change their mind and if there is enough fan outcry for more episodes, there is no telling when Money Heist season 6 would arrive on the streaming service. This is all just speculation at this time, but given the always changing state of release, the schedule’s these days it would seem the fifth and final ordeal could very well air in sometimes in 2021 or 2022, so any follow-up would be out in 2023 at the earliest with a 2024 date being much more plausible.
There has been nothing set in stone when it comes to who would presumably make up the cast of Money Heist season 6, if it was going to actually happen. It would probably be safe to assume there would be an ample amount of new and familiar faces making up the roster. We would also have to see who, if anyone survives the upcoming first season to even begin to speculate about the cast.
Netflix has not released any plot details of any kind about Money Heist season 6 and considering it most likely won’t happen, no one should really hold out for any sort of official synopsis to be put out to the public any time soon. If one ever does come out it will probably be closer to when the potential yet unlikely follow-up to season 5 premieres, which everyone should remember is technically not on the agenda.
