Thankfully Daryl Dixon touches a lot on the variant walkers as we end up seeing Walkers who have mutated to the point where their skin burns you upon touch.
It adds a whole new depth to the universe and makes it more interesting than just having the regular walkers we’ve been dealing with for more than a decade. This seems to be the start of a new age of terrifying walkers that we could see in the future and if we’re to see any more new frightening walkers, it will most likely be when we next see Rick and Michonne next year in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
The one thing that stands out greatly in this show is the performances and the chemistry that characters such as Daryl Dixon and Laurent have. Watching these two on screen is reminiscent of another Zombie franchise that many are familiar with. It is something that Daryl Dixon needed; seeing him go on this journey with this kid, trying to get him to his destination while also trying to find his way back home, we get to learn a lot more about Daryl than we ever did in the previous seasons. Daryl was never a favorite character of mine, but Norman Rhedus’s performance has made his character rise up in the ranks for me. There are a lot of dialogue-heavy scenes with the exposition that is dropped, but while it can seem to drag, it is necessary for the show to tell the story it’s trying to convey.

Whether you are a fan of Daryl Dixon or not, this show has something for everyone with its sprinkling of easter eggs and special surprises. The show expertly explores the world’s lore and develops Daryl Dixon’s character, making it impossible not to fall in love with him by the end.
