Priyotoma 2023 Movie Review
Priyotoma is a Bangladeshi movie that stars Shakib Khan, the so-called megastar of the industry, and Idhika Pal, a newcomer from India. Directed by Himel Ashraf and produced by Versatile Media and SK Films, the movie was released on Eid-ul-Azha in 2023.
The movie is supposed to be a romantic action drama, but it fails to deliver on both fronts. The plot is clichéd and predictable, revolving around Shakib Khan’s character, who is a mysterious and fearless man who falls in love with Idhika Pal’s character, who is a naive and innocent girl. The movie is full of illogical twists and turns, unrealistic stunts, and cheesy dialogues.
The movie also lacks originality and creativity, as it borrows heavily from other movies, both local and foreign. The movie’s first look was a blatant copy of the Hollywood movie Mad Max: Fury Road, featuring Shakib Khan with long hair, a cloth covering his face, and a knife. The movie’s songs were its only good side and sakib khans old look was good.
Shakib Khan’s performance was nothing new or impressive, as he played the same old role that he has been playing for years. He showed no variation or depth in his acting, relying on his star power and fan following to carry the movie. Idhika Pal was also mediocre and bland as the female lead, having no chemistry or charm with Shakib Khan. The supporting cast was also wasted and forgettable.
Priyotoma is a movie that will disappoint and frustrate the audience who are looking for quality entertainment and meaningful cinema. It is a movie that shows how the industry is going in the wrong direction if we keep appreciating this kind of trash. It is a movie that should be avoided at all costs.
