Mind Your Manners Review 2022 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online
The first client is 25-year-old Stephanie Osifo, who admits that she’s a party girl. She lives with her parents and feels that she needs to class things up a bit in order to get past her party girl days. The idea is to be her “Ya Bish” personality, but classy.
Ho wants Stephanie to ditch the revealing dresses, learn how to walk in heels, and take off the caked-on makeup she usually uses. It’s tough for Stephanie, because those things are what make her feel pretty, especially because she was bullied when she was younger because she had eczema. In order to support Stephanie’s traumatic makeup removal, Ho removes her own makeup, showing all of the freckles on her face, which she hates.
In the finishing school, we meet the four women taking the class, and Ho teaches them how to pronounce the names of foreign luxury brands, like Gucci and Givenchy.
Sure there are etiquette lessons that Sara Jane Ho imparts as part of the makeovers she manages on Mind Your Manners, but the title of the series ia a bit misleading. Like we said above, it’s essentially a makeover show; in the second episode we watched, Christy, a 50-year-old mom, just feels tired and depressed after years of putting herself last; Ho helps her think about herself for a change, as well as get her hair and makeup done, teaches her a more extensive skin routine, and finds a flattering dress. She also teaches her to incorporate tai chi in her life.
The makeover parts are always fun and of course are there to give viewers a feelgood vibe. But we were more interested in the segments where, for instance, she helps Stephanie cut that banana, or tells Christy that having the dead goldfish buried in the backyard is terrible for the house’s feng shui.
We’re also interested in the finishing school sessions in Beijing, mainly because Ho displays a sense of humor and a gentle way to correct her students’ behavior, something we also see with each episode’s main client. There are also short tips about dating, business interactions and other things that Ho feels will make things better for you if done correctly.
