Kengan Ashura Season 2 Review 2023 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online

On the spookiest of all days, Halloween, we were blessed with the release of part 2 of Kengan Ashura on Netflix. This new season is new season brings action-packed fight scenes, a deeper look into the many side characters in the show, as well as a lot of interactions between them. If you were a fan of the first part that came out earlier this year, you’re definitely going to be a fan of this new part. Don’t worry there will be no spoilers for this season, but there will be for season one, so if you haven’t seen part 1 already, my short review is you definitely should. Do also keep in mind that I have not read the manga for Kengan Ashura (yes, I am a normie) so I won’t be able to compare, and I won’t notice any changes made, this is strictly about the moving pictures version!

They’ve really upped the character interactions in this new season, with a lot of the more friendly side characters having interactions with each other that have a lot of charm to them. While they are usually small interactions, they show a lot of character and show a legitimate friendship between the fighters even if they are all potential opponents for each other. These character interactions tend to be short but sweet, but also show us a bit of the characters personality, from snide jokes to more deep and meaningful looks into how the characters all feel about each other. Overall it’s nice to see some comradery, even if these people are potentially going to fight each other,

we even get some interactions between fighters who have competed against each other from the previous season, in Cosmo Imai and Adam Dudley, with the former being the victor. This relationship really fleshes out Dudley’s character, who seemed to be just another big tough guy with no real personality who simply existed to be eliminated and forgotten about (don’t worry there’s still a lot of those in this season).

We also get a nice number of cameos from fighters who were eliminated last season this season. Like I mentioned before, Adam Dudley has become a minor side character in this season and we get smaller cameos from other characters that were eliminated like Ryo Inaba, also known as hair boy and Harou Kono, the strongest Himalayan turn spoiled gamer.

This season doesn’t just rely on past characters, however, as we get a lot of new interesting characters, as well as the debut of the long-teased champion of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, The Fang of Metsudo. This Season also has the debut of the fan-favourite character Gaolang and his fiery rival Saw Paing. We also get more fodder characters for this season, because somebody has to lose to the main characters and I’d say that the ones they have in this season are much more interesting, like the Mickey Mouse rip-off.

The fights this season are great, with a lot of the characters teased last season having their moments in the spotlight. We also get a lot of contrast in these fights, with characters having opposing ideals and styles that really come out in fights. One thing that I’ve always liked about this series is that most of the martial arts techniques are realistic, albeit made more cinematic. Obviously, there are some techniques that are extremely unrealistic, but they are vastly outweighed by the actual techniques from styles that they go into the history of, they even make histories for some of the fake styles that are in the series which is also super cool.

There are a few drawbacks, however, nothings perfect, but a large problem for me is the lack of screen time our main character, Ohma Tokita, actually gets. I would need to go back and check, but I’m pretty sure there are full episodes where we don’t see or hear anything about him, which gives the other characters time to shine, but still it’s a little off. The show also still uses mainly 3D animation for characters whenever they move and while this does not bother me, I know that some fans really dislike the use of 3D animation.

Overall, Part 2 is a great addition to the series and a great follow up to the last part. great voice acting, action and well-made characters make this show a must-watch for any action anime fan.
