Apache Junction (2021) : Plot

In writer-director Justin Lee’s new shoot-em-up Western, what occurs at Apache Junction remains at Apache Junction. The first trailer, starring country great Trace Adkins as the outlaw Captain Hensley, can be seen exclusively on ET.

“My father instilled in me a love of Western films and the rich history of the Old West,” Adkins tells ET. “That era has a bravery and recklessness about it that I like greatly. I was pleased to co-star in this action-packed picture alongside Justin Lee, the director, and the rest of the cast and crew.”

A big-city writer (Scout Taylor-Compton) journeys to the namesake outpost of lawlessness to write a piece about the thieves and killers who live there. When she ends up on the wrong side of the tracks, she has no choice but to rely on infamous outlaw Jericho Ford (Stuart Townsend) to get her out alive. A gunslinging barman is also played by Thomas Jane.

“This film also stars my wife, Victoria [Pratt],” Adkins explains. (About five seconds into the trailer above, you’ll notice her.) “Having the opportunity to share the big screen with her makes it even more precious.”
