The surfing career of Tatiana Weston-Webb provides the framework for a much more personal story about mentorship, determination, illness, and human connection. Browning’s battle with ALS adds emotional weight to Tatiana’s pursuit of excellence and changes the meaning of success throughout the film.
The surfing footage is naturally one of the film’s highlights. Weston-Webb’s athletic ability and competitive drive give the documentary energy, while appearances from major surfing figures such as Kelly Slater and Carissa Moore add perspective to her journey.
