The Devil Wears Prada 2 2026 Movie Review
Good enough but nowhere near as good as the first one , when comparing the sequel to the first one ( because I should ) there is a lot of inconsistencies throughout the film Mainly because of the plot and the massive amount of plot holes and some weird plot fillers that seem to navigate it’s way awkwardly in the film itself while trying to maintain some kind of relevant plot that tries to tie itself up to stay relevant to the main idea of The workplace subgenre in the Devil wears Prada 2.
Now the film has it’s moments definitely from the return of the absolutely incredible cast members such as Anne Hathaway with her charming lovable positive work-ethic protagonist aiming to protect everything at all cost whilst managing her social life while her love romantic subplot felt kind of forced everything else in her character was really great Anne Hathaway did a solid job as Andy , Meryl Streep as everyone might say is the star and the main anchor that this film is being held on she provides the wittiness and the sarcasm and some work-rudeness that involve her character and she provides some solid conflict throughout the storyline while some stuff felt forced as well Meryl Streep is still Sharp and talented as Ever , Stanley Tucci did a fantastic performance in this film offering the expertise that he has on the industry of the runaway magazine offering the calmness and intelligence that he provides in this film , Emily Blunt did a fantastic performance as well might not be as good as what she offered in the first film as the “sassy jealous co-worker” but she knew how to stay in the spotlight whenever her scene came in.
My only problem is that the director might’ve forgotten what made the Devil wears Prada a likeable film because the first film focused on the struggles of a new job and maintaining a solid career whilst having an angsty boss that never gets tired of asking exhausting requests even from a newly hired assistant and it seems like the sequel abandoned that and i know that it needs a new thing to continue with the story but if the first film was already good why make a second one that you take a solid risk with and not end up having that “factor” that shaped what Workplace drama could ever be.
Overall i will lie if i say i didn’t enjoy it but it really dragged on for like forever in the last 30 minutes because some trouble of the pacing but overall i didn’t dislike it as a film not at all but i didn’t like that it is a sequel to a really good film that didn’t live up to the first one in terms of plot and storyline that involved key character elements and plot points , focusing heavily on other topics is something good but when comparing the Devil Wears Prada 2 to The Devil Wears Prada (2006) it is clear that the first film was Way Better than this in a lot of ways
