Nowhere 2023 Movie Review

Here is my favorite for the Oscar for Best International Film. You yourself know that I am direct, sometimes cruel, but always honest and that I have no problem praising any achievement to the limit, no matter what genre it belongs to. Countless times I have praised Spanish cinematography from the bottom of my heart and said that it is the closest to the level of Hollywood. I also said that the Spanish film industry uses Netflix very cleverly and when this combination is combined, you get a cinematic spectacle. This time, we got a new Spanish masterpiece or as I like to say, masterpiece!

An extremely difficult, shocking and tense drama is brought to us by director Albert Pintó. “Nowhere” is a sort of dystopian survival film. We have a series of symbols at the very root of all this, but we will not deal with that at all. We are here for the story, we are here for this perfection, which should be seen by everyone, because this is a movie even for those who are operated by movies. The scenography in which you have limited space, and you manage to get so much out of such an environment, simply leads to the conclusion that this film contains one of the best concepts ever, when we talk about films whose action takes place 90% in one place.

And how can you get a lot out of such a small set? Well, you need someone who has incredible acting skills. In that name, I present to you a lady, whom most do not know. It is about Anna Castillo, who became famous with her role in the film “The Olive Tree”, for which she received the “Goya” award, which is awarded by the Spanish Film Institute. Her role in this film is worthy of an Oscar, so we’ll see if the corrupt American film academy will pay attention to Anna. She made me cry and smile a hundred times in the film. Tears because of the amount of emotions she spreads, and smiles because of the enjoyment of watching what she does in the film.
