I Want Your Sex 2026 Movie Review
I saw movie at the Atlanta film festival, and I really enjoyed movie! Very funny even with shocking (to me) BDSM exploration. The cast made the movie enjoyable. I feel like I need to comment on the ONLY review listed ! Like several 1 Star reviews of movies I have read lately, the negativity expressed of the films do NOT make sense (Hatred or maybe just against quirky, offbeat movies that are not meant to be taken seriously when cleverly done?)
Okay, I felt a little uncomfortable with some of the scenes involving the main character (Elliot) not only being seduced (and dominated) by his gorgeous new boss but having to go through one humiliation after another. I could have been bothered by some of the intentional cruelty the main character, Elliot, has to endure (which are obvious planned “by design”), but it comes across in a funny way like Jeff Daniel’s character in “Something Wild.” Elliot is both shocked and incredibly turned on during the “process,” which made it interesting and enjoyable (and clearly not to be taken seriously). Unlike in the movie “9 1/2 Weeks,” when Kim Basinger slowly enters unknown territory by being “mentored” into new sexual experiences (not just kinky but also very degrading at times all at whim of originator), Elliot, abruptly enters into a submissive role to his demanding new boss (played very well by the beautiful Olivia Wilde).
I liked the light-hearted and “over the top” way characters are presented because of the talented cast (many memorable scenes from smaller roles had me laughing throughout movie). Basically experienced “teacher” has motives or something in mind that gets revealed to his or her new “pupil,” and it all unfolds in an often silly but satisfying manner. I didn’t know anything about director, who I know is a well respected (in audience who enjoy similar films shown at film festivals) veteran of many of these independent films. Now after seeing this movie I want to watch others he has made.
