Your Friends & Neighbors Review 2025 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online
I don’t even know where to begin with this mess of a series. “Friends and Neighbours” starts with a premise that might’ve worked as dark comedy or sharp drama, but instead, we get a painfully dumb parade of bad decisions-mostly from Jon Hamm’s character, who seems determined to keep horrible people in his life for no apparent reason.
He catches his wife (Amanda Peet) in bed with his best friend, and somehow she keeps the house. Not only that, but the friend moves in. And Jon Hamm? He pays for all of it. What alternate universe is this? Peet walks around with this smug, self-righteous attitude like he is the one who wrecked the marriage, despite her being the one getting cozy with his buddy in his bed. She also lets her 17 minor daughter have a 20yr old boyfriend who can have sex with anytime He wants and sees no issues. What a cool mom right? Yikes!
To make it worse, she has the nerve to act concerned about his loneliness-like that’s something she just remembered after shattering his life. Her character is infuriating, but what’s worse is Jon Hamm just standing there, letting it all happen.
Then there’s the coworker sex scandal subplot, which could’ve been his exit ramp from misery. His friend suggests Dubai, where apparently nobody would bat an eye. It’s a lifeline! But no, Hamm’s character changes the subject and chooses to stay and marinate in his own suffering. And the audience is just left wondering: why is he so stupid?
Bottom line: “Friends and Neighbours” wastes a great cast on a frustratingly tone-deaf story. If you enjoy watching talented actors flounder in a swamp of illogical plotlines and emotional masochism, maybe this is your show. Otherwise, skip it-and send Jon Hamm’s character a therapist and a lawyer. He needs both, but seems to think they’d be a waste of time. What the heck?
