Professor T Season 2 Review 2023 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online
There is a saying that you shouldn’t replace a successful team. This is also the case with the English adaptation of the globally successful crime series format “Professor T.”. Fans can be happy, Ben Miller is investigating as a professor and police consultant in six cases in the second season again in the university city of Cambridge. Edel Motion will release the series digitally and for classic home entertainment on DVD from June 16, 2023.
Jasper Tempest (Ben Miller) keeps waking up in a sweat because he has bad dreams. Breathing into the paper bag in the bedside drawer doesn’t help much to calm down. Jasper’s subconscious is in turmoil. No wonder the criminology professor is thinking about therapy. Or yes: it’s extremely surprising that the almost autistic loner and misanthrope would even consider being treated in any way.
Over the course of the season there are also awkward sessions with therapist Goldberg (Juliet Stevenson). And there are some considerable complications and hints. Above all, mother Adelaide Tempest (Frances de la Tour) is downright disturbed that her son is having therapy. The fact that he wants to borrow the dog goes a bit too far.
But the Cambridge Police also have cases to deal with where the professor’s help would be welcome. However, Cristina Brand (Juliet Aubrey) orders that the professor should no longer be involved. But Detective Sergeants (DS) Lisa Donckers (Emma Naomi) and Dan Winters (Barney White) don’t always move fast enough. But the two get closer privately and Winters gets involved in a seedy part-time job.
Enough loose threads to make the second season of the English version of “Professor T.” interesting and to live and suffer with the characters beyond the six criminal investigations. Overall, this makes the second season a bit more entertaining than the previous season .
In fact, the series produced for ITV and directed by Belgium’s Dries Vos, I find myself baffled by the crew behind the cameras. The series idea comes from Belgium, was successfully imported to Germany and the Belgian series maker Paul Piedfort is repeatedly cited as the series runner and screenwriter.
In fact, the research shows that the original Belgian series includes 13 self-contained episodes per season, i.e. cases. The British investigations in the second season are adapted episodes from the Belgian model, so the opening “Ring of Fire” (German: “Feuerring”) corresponds to the investigations of the second Belgian episode in season 2 “In Vuur en Flaam” during the professor’s mental problems are already an issue in the Belgian season opener.
Author Matt Baker is then responsible for series continuity and plot adaptation in Cambridge and he does his job very well. Ben Miller’s Prof is British enough to stand out from the crowd. So anyone who has enjoyed the series so far can continue to look forward to odd characters and entertaining crime riddles. Jasper Tempest goes beyond its limits. That’s what we want to see, right?
