Honeymoon Crasher started streaming on Netflix on February 12, 2025, and the film also known as Lune de miel avec ma mère tells the story of a man who goes on his Honeymoon with his mother after his to-be wife dumps him for her ex. We caught up with the film as soon as it came out and can’t wait to share what we feel about the film with you, so here is our Honeymoon Crasher Review.
Honeymoon Crasher on Netflix is a wonderfully charming film that will leave you with the broadest of smiles ever by the time it ends. The film explores the complexities of relationships and gives a subtle life lesson.
The art direction of the film stands out and creates bright tones that the cinematography team of the film has beautifully captured. The film starts of with a sense of predictability in its setup but as it enters into its second act, we see this film really coming into its own with the conflict deepening with every scene. The writing of this film really stands out with the dialogue perpetually creating drama and conflict which ultimately provides a fulfilling resolution.
The performances are good for their parts Julien Frison really stands out with his nervous energy and is the perfect cast for this role. What the film lacks maybe is a good background score. It feels like an opportunity missed where the makers could have showcased regional instruments and given a flavor of the local life. Another aspect in its scripting that lacks is at times how overtly silly it gets in the attempt to be simplistic and innocent.
The film is technically beautiful with many good performances and is a perfect midweek watch if you want to blow away your stress as we head to the weekend. We will recommend this film as a breezy watch during Valentine’s week.
