Bloodhounds Review 2023 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online
Netflix has been on a roll this year with the constant addition of Korean webtoon adaptations like Weak Hero Class 1, Duty After School, and the Lookism animated series. While it premiered several of these shows the previous year—including the hit zombie series, All of Us Are Dead, which became a blockbuster—this year has an abundance of adaptations lined up. Since Korean webtoons aren’t as popular as Japanese comics, Netflix’s choice to produce live-action adaptations of these works brings the creators a lot of recognition.
In light of the webtoon’s popularity, the new action thriller series Bloodhounds has piqued audiences’ interest. Kim Jo Hwan, better known as Jason Kim, directs the series, which stars Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi, Park Sung Woong, and Huh Jun Hoo, all of whom are well-known in the Korean drama industry.
Initially, the series was intended to be titled “Hunting Dogs,” but that was changed to “Bloodhounds,” which seems like an appropriate choice. With that in mind, if you’re looking forward to the new series, which you should be, here’s everything you need to know about it, including the plot, cast, and release date.
Except for a few first-look images, Netflix has yet to release a trailer for Bloodhounds. However, because the series is based on a popular webtoon, here’s how the plot unfolds in the source material: The story revolves around three main characters, Kim Geon Woo (Woo Do Hwan), Hong Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yi), and Cha Hyeon Joo (Kim Sae Ron).
Geon Woo, a former high school student and boxer, comes from a poor household due to his mother’s previous debts from loan sharks to support the family.
To pay off the debt to these loan sharks, who will go to any length to collect their money, he had to drop out of school and look for a job that would pay him well. Woo Jin is also a high school student, but he is the polar opposite of Geon Woo, having been a bully his entire life and received an expulsion as a result.
When President Choi (Heo Joon Ho), a legendary figure in the criminal underworld who rules the country from the shadows, extends his hand to both of these teenagers via Hyeon Joo, who works for him, they eagerly agree, hoping to change their lives.
However, their objective as bloodhounds is to collect debts from others, and in order to do it effectively, they must abandon their morals and work their way up the ranks. How will these high school students, one of whom aspires to be a boxer and the other who desires a comfortable life, adjust to the new underworld’s working environment?
The webtoon drew an enormous following due to its depiction of the harsh reality of South Korean societal concerns and a riveting storyline that kept readers glued to the screen until its conclusion. Given the recent success of similar adaptations of Korean action dramas such as Weak Hero Class 1 and Prime Video’s Island, Bloodhounds should be an exciting series to keep an eye on.
