Agent Kim Reactivated Review 2026 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online

I sincerely apologize that some readers don’t like this review. I come from a universe where this webtoon “world” is unknown. So I watched this fresh, without any preconception. And without being tied to the world of Agent Kim. Imagine: it would be like not knowing a thing about the Marvel Universe and being thrown into the Avengers, with all its backstory. So this review is what it is. I am sincerely sorry if it offends! However, I feel what I write here is valid. My review is more aimed at an audience who might find this series difficult to watch (as I do).

Variety is the spice of life. I was excited to see the teaser for this show because it has Choi Dae-hoon in it. He’s one of my favorite supporting actors in K-dramas and he pops up regularly in shows I end up liking a lot. He seems to choose well in that regard.

I saw the protagonist So Ji-sub in Doctor Lawyer. He’s talented. And he has the bumbling businessman act down perfectly at the start of this series. He’s actually sort of adorable.

That being said, this is a nightmare of a TV series for me: bullying, torture, mean girls, violence against women, and gangsters are all personal red flags.

But let me be clear. It is not the violence alone that disturbs me. I have watched sageuk dramas that have torture, political execution, and murder. It is not the violence per se, but rather it is the cruelty. Especially cruelty that feels like entertainment. That type of cruelty (for me) is exhausting.

I almost always wait until the end of a series to review it, but this is an exception to that rule because after two episodes I will not be continuing.

I found myself fast forwarding thru the violence and it became evident to me that it was likely I would be fast forwarding a lot in this series. It’s “action” but it is a particular kind of visceral, mean action. I wasn’t on the edge of my seat — I needed to get past the unpleasantness to reach the part I wanted to watch.

I understand this series is based on a beloved webtoon universe that has many fans. I have watched other shows based on webtoons and enjoyed them. The adaptations were gentle, or romantic, or funny. This adaptation is extremely violent.

I am of course curious how the mean girls, gangsters, bullies and other awful people get their comeuppance. And we have to believe that they will. Right? I do want justice. I just don’t want to watch people suffer to find it. There may very well be human heart to this story where a father is searching for his daughter… in fact I am pretty sure there is. I just don’t want to spend a lot of time watching that story get the human heart.

But, that is me. You may like this. It may be right up your alley. But if you don’t like gratuitous violence, or cruelty for cruelty’s sake, or seeing violence done to young girls, this may not be for you: caution is advised.
